There was an awful train derailment tonight outside of Philadelphia. Reports are still murky so I’m not going to pass on speculation. This post isn’t really about that though. It’s about Donald Trump, one of our country’s more well known pieces of shit.

He used the crash to launch into a predictably tasteless political rant which you can seek out if you want but it’s nothing special. At the end of it though he tweeted what may be the most perfectly hilarious awful tweet ever. So perfect is this awful tweet that I am almost suspicious that it is satire. (He later deleted it but not before I and 10,000 other people took screenshots.)

What that there were a Hell so that Donald Trump could burn.

BREAKING: Italian Court Reaches Verdict In Amanda Knox Case

AFP has the breaking news:

Italy’s top court on Friday cleared Amanda Knox of the 2007 murder of British student Meredith Kercher, bringing a sensational end to an eight-year legal drama.

Judges at the Court of Cassation also cleared Knox’s Italian ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito after ten hours of deliberations in Rome.

Twitter erupted into craziness Thursday night after a dress went viral. What color was the dress? Some thought it was gold and white; some thought it was blue and black. People had fun. Fun was had! Had was fun! It was a good time and times were good. But this being the world we live in some Serious Cops had to flash their lights and start ticketing people for having fun.

There are a lot of cops on the internet. Everyone’s got a set of cuffs and a gun—and whatever crime they think you’ve committed, well, they’re ready to slap those cuffs on you and sentence you to 20 years hard internet. A lot of commenters on this site are cops. Journalism Cops. I’m sure a bunch of people will comment on this post saying, “why is this news?”

Anyway, no one likes Internet Cops. Internet Cops is probably the only police procedural CBS has ever passed on.

The lesson of #TheDress? Put your gun down, Barney Fife. Your services aren’t needed.

P.S. The dress is blue.

When the stars align and you take those ideas in your mind and that ambition in your belly and match them with piss and vinegar and do something real? Something that will give your life meaning? To borrow a phrase from some of 2014’s most depressingly successful content thieves entrepreneurs, “haha.”

The three people behind the immensely popular Twitter accounts @HistoryInPics and @EarthPix have raised $2 million from investors…According to TechCrunch, venture firms 500 Startups, Upfront Ventures, and Daher Capital have all thrown in for the social media start-up that as of a year ago was raking in about $50,000 a month. They’re now reportedly taking in about $1 million a month.

The Twitter accounts have become immensely popular online, amassing millions of followers in less than two years of existence. The company gets its content largely by scraping places like Reddit for images and captions. The only problem? The images are often fake and the captions are often wrong.

Life has no meaning. Nothing matters.

Ebola in NYC! Chaos! Doom! Hysteria! Hashtags!

Late Thursday, New York City officials confirmed that a doctor recently returned to the city from treating Ebola patients in West Africa has tested positive for the virus. The internet, a place where serious things are not taken seriously and unserious things are taken very seriously, was a bit confused about how to react. On the one hand, panic! On the other hand, #ironic #detachment!

Into this whirlwind jumped Nick Muzin, Sen. Ted Cruz’s deputy chief of staff:

The internet was unsure if this not very funny joke was a joke or not and ran with it as though it were serious because the truth is conservatives do seem to blame quite a lot on Obamacare, but then the tweet was deleted and followed up with:

I would personally like the record to reflect that though I wasn’t sure if it was a joke and didn’t find it particularly funny, I’d die for Nick Muzin’s right to tweet his joke.

So, you go camping with your friends and you’re having a nice little jam session and then all of a sudden “IT’S A BAT!”

Thankfully, none of these guys were harmed during the attack, but when they took the body of the bat to a local vet—they apparently killed it with BB guns after the video stopped recording—they were informed that their departed flying friend was, in fact, rabid. That’s scary. The guitarist is getting treated and will be OK.

Feel free to have nightmares about this though.
